OBJECTIVES
- MATERNAL:
To reproduce without problems. To rear a similar or better calf showing trait. Consistency.
- FERTILE:
Falling pregnant in first two cycles. High % calving consistency.
- SHORT GESTATION:
Less days for cow to carry calf. Increases number of calves in a cows life.
- SMALL BIRTH CALVES:
Quick calving with no stress on mother or calf. Calves have explosive growth at three to four months overtaking higher birth weight calves.
- SERVING CAPACITY:
Bulls have the capacity to produce a large number of calves in a short time.
- STRUCTURAL CORRECTNESS:
High yield of saleable meat. No Calving problems. Ability to cover large distances in Australian conditions.
- TEMPERAMENT: Not of nervous disposition. Calm. Docile. A big plus in crossbreeding.
- LONGEVITY: Cows still producing at thirteen years plus. Not having two or three calves and then shutting the shop.
- TENDER, PALATABLE:
A pleasure to eat, tender tasty excellent healthy eating.
