OBJECTIVES
  1. MATERNAL: To reproduce without problems. To rear a similar or better calf showing trait. Consistency.
  2. FERTILE: Falling pregnant in first two cycles. High % calving consistency.
  3. SHORT GESTATION: Less days for cow to carry calf. Increases number of calves in a cows life.
  4. SMALL BIRTH CALVES: Quick calving with no stress on mother or calf. Calves have explosive growth at three to four months overtaking higher birth weight calves.
  5. SERVING CAPACITY: Bulls have the capacity to produce a large number of calves in a short time.
  6. STRUCTURAL CORRECTNESS: High yield of saleable meat. No Calving problems. Ability to cover large distances in Australian conditions.
  7. TEMPERAMENT: Not of nervous disposition. Calm. Docile. A big plus in crossbreeding.
  8. LONGEVITY: Cows still producing at thirteen years plus. Not having two or three calves and then shutting the shop.
  9. TENDER, PALATABLE: A pleasure to eat, tender tasty excellent healthy eating.
